David Ramos, 33, of Danbury, was arrested early Wednesday, Sept. 11, in connection with the Wednesday, Sept. 4, shooting death of Jason James Lowry Hoffman, 33, of Brewster, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams.
During the course of the investigation, detectives developed sufficient information through interviews and evidence collection linking Ramos to Hoffman’s death, he said.
"Ramos eluded apprehension until this morning when he was found in a friend’s apartment located on Scuppo Road in Danbury," Williams said.
Investigators believe Ramos will face additional charges related to the incident, as well as others, Williams said.
Ramos was charged with manslaughter, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to keep prescription medicine in the original container, and interfering with a police officer.
He is currently being held at the Danbury Police Department pending arraignment in Superior Court or the posting of a predetermined court set bond of $250,000.
